DO WE NEED TO BRING ANYTHING FOR OUR APPOINTMENT?

If you have a referral letter or pertinent medical documents, bringing them will help our doctors assess your case efficiently.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING MY EYE EXAM?

During your eye exam, our doctors will take your case history which includes your medical history, chief complaints, and family health history among others. After this, our optometrists will perform the necessary tests which include:

  • Visual Acuity Testing
  • Objective and Subjective refraction
  • Intraocular Pressure (Tonometry)
  • Pachymetry (Corneal Thickness)
  • Binocular vision assessment
  • External and internal eye health exam
  • Dry Eye Assessment

After all the necessary tests are performed, our optometrists may recommend specific management plans for you, such as correction of your refractive error through prescription eyewear and/or contact lenses, and may recommend additional tests if necessary.

WHY DO I NEED TO HAVE MY EYES CHECKED?

Regular eye exams are important to monitor the health of your eyes. Some systemic conditions affect vision, and eye exams can detect early signs before you even feel or see anything wrong. Some common complaints we hear in the clinic include symptoms of dry eye and eye strain, which are influenced by increased visual demands and long hours of computer and/or gadget use. Children who present with nearsightedness at early age need early intervention so that progression may be slowed down.
